About The Role This is a remote Software Development position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to work across multiple markets within the United States, with a preference for candidates located in North Carolina, Florida, Texas, and Arizona. The role involves leading all phases of software development, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
The successful candidate will serve as a technical expert within the team, guiding the development of complex systems utilizing Direct Bank technologies.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and deploying software solutions that enhance processing capabilities and support production systems. Additionally, the role involves mentoring junior associates, leading technical projects, and ensuring the stability and functionality of critical banking systems. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and at least 6 years of experience in software application development and maintenance
- OR High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in software development and maintenance
- Experience implementing and managing REST APIs for application integration and communication
- Proficiency in integrating identity and access management solutions such as OKTA for SSO and SAML authentication
- Hands-on experience with microservice architecture, API development, and working with ESB platforms like Mule or Tibco
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure seamless integration aligned with business needs
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to middleware, API integration, and authentication systems
- Experience with Azure DevOps or similar code repository systems
- Proficiency with ServiceNow or other IT service ticketing systems
- Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and facilitate process improvements
- Willingness and ability to participate in 24/7 on-call rotations
- Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile
- Programming skills in Java, Spring Boot, SQL scripting, and PowerShell scripting
- Current contractor or contingent worker status with First Citizens Bank is preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to evaluate and enhance department systems, processes, and applications to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Design, develop, and implement software modules based on programming specifications, ensuring compatibility within existing system architecture
- Create and execute comprehensive test plans to validate application functionality and performance
- Provide technical support for production systems by diagnosing and resolving complex issues, ensuring continuous system availability
- Develop technical solutions for unique system challenges and lead major projects, delegating tasks to team members to ensure quality deliverables
- Mentor and train associates within the work group, sharing expertise and best practices
- Participate in special projects and meetings, conveying critical technical insights to stakeholders
- Collect and analyze data related to user requests, system impacts, and project scope to inform development and troubleshooting efforts
- Review business and programming specifications, coding, documentation, and implementation plans for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain availability for on-call support on a rotational basis, ensuring system stability and quick resolution of issues
