About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our remote team. This leadership role is pivotal in designing, developing, integrating, and supporting secure and scalable cloud-native solutions across our Payments, Money Movement, and Information Reporting platforms.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AWS cloud technologies, software engineering, and solution architecture, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, enterprise-grade applications. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into robust technical solutions, providing architectural leadership, and mentoring distributed development teams. This role requires a hands-on approach, balancing immediate business needs with long-term strategic planning, all while ensuring system reliability, security, and operational excellence.
The position is remote but limited to candidates residing in Arizona (AZ), North Carolina (NC), or Texas (TX).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant technical experience, or High School Diploma/GED with at least 12 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years hands-on AWS cloud engineering and architecture experience.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Strong expertise with AWS services including Lambda, ECS, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, IAM, KMS, and AWS Transfer Family.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Experience designing event-driven, microservices, and serverless architectures.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and/or Node.js development.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and OpenShift.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies.
- Ability to develop highly available, fault-tolerant, secure, and scalable enterprise solutions.
- Proven leadership in guiding development teams and making architectural decisions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Lead all software engineering activities including architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and efficient technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to distributed development teams.
- Design and implement microservices and serverless architectures to optimize performance and scalability.
- Ensure adherence to security protocols, compliance standards, and operational excellence.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to automate and manage cloud resources.
- Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements using tools like CloudWatch and AWS X-Ray.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of payment and financial systems.
