About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Software Development department. In this role, you will be instrumental in investigating, designing, developing, enhancing, and testing Linux-based security systems. Your primary focus will be on resolving complex security vulnerabilities that often target the operating system level, contributing to the development of robust security solutions.

You will work on multiple projects, engaging in deep security analysis and system hardening techniques such as SELinux. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
• 5+ years of experience in software development, with additional years encouraged to apply
• Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Rust, Java, Python
• Experience with Linux/Unix operating system level programming
• Technical experience with XML, XSLT, XPROC, or related technologies
• Strong software testing background
• Knowledge of security engineering principles, including kernel-level development
• Experience designing and developing filter software for Cross Domain Solutions
• Understanding of data attack vectors, data disclosure, file formats, and protocols
• Embedded systems development experience (preferred)
• Experience with SELinux, RHEL, systemd, and creating systemd unit files
• C/C++ development experience (preferred)
• U.S. Citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Responsibilities

• Investigate, analyze, and resolve complex security vulnerabilities within Linux-based systems
• Design, develop, and enhance security features and tools for operating system hardening
• Implement and test security solutions, including SELinux policies and systemd configurations
• Develop trusted code and kernel-level functionalities to support high-security environments
• Contribute to cross-disciplinary projects involving data security, protocol analysis, and system integrity
• Identify and mitigate potential data attack vectors and vulnerabilities in file formats and protocols
• Collaborate with team members to ensure security best practices are integrated into all development phases
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality standards
• Support hybrid and remote work arrangements, with periodic travel to the office as needed
