• *About The Role**

The Lead Software Engineer at T. Rowe Price will play a pivotal role in advancing our retail advisory services, focusing on developing modern, scalable solutions to enhance the experience for our individual investors. This role involves leading a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and deploying microservice-based applications within a cloud environment, primarily leveraging AWS technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding architectural decisions, fostering innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that align with enterprise standards. • *Qualifications**
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• 8+ years of progressive Java development experience, including microservice architecture
• Extensive experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting Java backend solutions
• Deep understanding of AWS cloud technologies, including databases, caching, and messaging services
• Proficiency with Spring Boot framework
• Experience working with existing data models and schemas, with the ability to suggest improvements
• Familiarity with UNIX, scripting, and version control systems such as GitLab
• Proven ability to write comprehensive unit tests and familiarity with testing frameworks
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and stay updated with industry trends
• Willingness to support deployments and occasional support activities outside normal hours

Preferred qualifications include prior experience in asset management and UI development expertise with frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, promoting best practices and independent work capabilities

• Lead discussions on strategic vs. tactical technical decisions, evaluating trade-offs and implications
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies
• Support deployment activities and provide technical support as needed outside regular hours
