About The Role We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer for a contract position with a leading Pharmacy Benefit Manager based in Minnesota. This is a 12+ month remote opportunity offering competitive hourly compensation between $67.00 and $69.00.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining resilient and stable technology solutions that meet all operational, functional, and non-functional requirements. This role involves owning the technology solutions within their designated area, proactively monitoring system health, and contributing to the technological roadmap to ensure future sustainability and innovation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in application development, cloud technologies, and a proven ability to lead technical design and development efforts in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 7-10+ years of experience in application development or software implementation
• Proficiency with AWS services, including AWS Lambda
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, SQL, and UI frameworks such as JSF
• Familiarity with Github Copilot or similar AI-assisted coding tools
• Experience working within an Agile or product delivery environment
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of technology solutions ensuring they meet resiliency, stability, and operational readiness standards
• Maintain and support existing systems and platforms, ensuring optimal performance and stability
• Manage work direction, influence team members, and provide constructive feedback during project execution
• Participate in staffing planning by identifying subject matter experts and contributing to performance reviews
• Own and oversee technology solutions within the designated area, including proactive system monitoring and alerting
• Develop and communicate technological roadmaps, ensuring system health and sustainability
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster innovation within the team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate abstract concepts into supportable software solutions
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA and PCI, especially in healthcare-related projects
