Software Engineer - MES

Requirements

Must have:

- U.S. citizenship with an Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance - Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field - Minimum of 2 years of experience debugging applications on simulated and/or target hardware - Proficiency using a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS), such as Green Hills Integrity, VxWorks, or similar - Strong oral and written communication skills - Preferred: Object-oriented design and implementation experience, with familiarity in software modeling and UML tools like IBM Rhapsody or MagicDraw/Cameo - Preferred: Experience developing device drivers and Board Support Packages for real-time embedded systems - Preferred: Knowledge of Information Assurance and/or cryptography - Preferred: Experience with NSA Type 1 certification or other SW certification such as DO-178

Responsibilities:

- Transform requirements into effective and maintainable solutions for our C5 and Cyber Solution Centers - Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize tasks - Contribute as a critical team member on a Scrum team, influencing product and infrastructure strategy - Assist with embedded software application development and troubleshoot complex issues - Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles in software development for target hardware - Work alongside cross-functional engineering teams to assess and develop hardware-software interfaces and evaluate operational performance requirements - Participate in all stages of the software development life cycle, from requirements analysis and design to implementation and testing - Create and maintain software test plans, procedures, and necessary technical documentation - Utilize modeling tools to gather operating data, conduct experimental tests, and assess results - Engage in peer reviews to identify, track, and rectify defects - Develop code in various programming languages, primarily C/C++ and Python, for embedded real-time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, Integrity)
