About The Role The Staff Software Engineer, Developer Experience (DevEx) at CoreWeave is a senior technical leadership position responsible for shaping and executing the long-term strategy of the developer platform. This role involves operating across multiple engineering teams to solve complex problems related to developer productivity, build infrastructure, and large-scale distributed systems.
The successful candidate will own the architecture and evolution of the DevEx platform, including CI/CD pipelines, test environments, artifact management, and agentic developer tooling. They will lead cross-team technical initiatives, influence organizational standards, and mentor senior engineers to build a resilient, scalable, and efficient developer platform. This role is ideal for a visionary engineer with deep expertise in systems design, cloud-native technologies, and a passion for advancing developer workflows, particularly in AI-native environments.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on production developer platforms, build infrastructure, or large-scale distributed systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred
- Proven ability to define and execute multi-year technical strategies across complex, cross-team domains
- Deep expertise in systems design, API design, service architecture, and platform abstractions
- Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar languages with experience shipping large-scale cloud-native services
- Expertise in Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) at the platform level
- Experience or strong interest in AI-native developer tooling, including agentic frameworks and autonomous workflows
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of influencing technical decisions and building technical depth within teams
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the technical strategy for the DevEx platform, balancing engineering excellence with organizational scale
- Architect and evolve the CI pipeline infrastructure, test environments, delivery systems, and artifact management solutions
- Lead the development of the agentic developer platform, including MCP servers, tool integrations, and APIs to enable autonomous workflows
- Identify systemic bottlenecks and design scalable, reliable solutions across multiple data centers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as infrastructure, security, SRE, and product engineering to align platform development
- Mentor and develop senior engineers, fostering technical growth and decision-making capabilities
- Proactively address technical debt and reliability gaps to improve platform resilience and developer trust
- Establish and uphold engineering standards that promote quality, security, and efficiency across the organization
