About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Simulation Architect to join our Autonomous Vehicle organization. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and developing large-scale simulation infrastructure and evaluation pipelines that underpin the validation and verification of autonomous driving software.
Your expertise will help quantify the accuracy, reliability, and safety of simulation tests, ensuring that GM's autonomous vehicle systems meet rigorous standards before deployment. You will lead cross-functional initiatives, collaborate with teams across Autonomy, Systems Engineering, Data, and Safety, and influence strategic technology roadmaps. Your contributions will directly impact the development of safe, scalable, and trustworthy autonomous vehicle solutions, accelerating GM’s mission to revolutionize mobility.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in developing complex evaluation, simulation, or testing frameworks
- Proficiency in Python development for production systems, including unit testing, performance optimization, and reliability practices
- Proven experience in technical leadership across multiple teams, influencing system architecture and strategies
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and influence stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop large-scale simulation infrastructure and evaluation pipelines to support autonomous vehicle software validation
- Lead cross-team initiatives to integrate simulation processes into development workflows and decision-making frameworks
- Innovate and implement methodologies to assess the trustworthiness and effectiveness of simulation products at scale
- Define and refine key evaluation metrics and KPIs, presenting insights and tradeoffs to stakeholders through dashboards and reports
- Maintain high technical standards through architectural design reviews, code reviews, and best practice implementation
- Collaborate with diverse teams to align simulation technologies with overall autonomous vehicle development goals
