Requirements

Must have:

- Bachelors degree in Software Engineering or a related field in Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics - 5 years of relevant professional experience, or a Masters degree with 3 years of experience - Proficient in Python and Java - Strong grasp of API design, testing, development, and management - Familiarity with Scaled Agile methodology and practices - Knowledge of DevOps principles including CI/CD pipelines, automation, configuration management, and infrastructure as code - Experience with AWS; AWS Solutions Architect certification is preferred, Azure experience is a plus - Understanding of containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes - Awareness of security best practices, risk management, compliance, and incident response - Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with development, operations, and security teams - Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities - Ability to create documentation and share knowledge efficiently - Experience with prompt engineering and AI tools to streamline workflows - Familiarity with tools like GitLab, Nexus Managed Artifacts, Ansible, Terragrunt, and ArgoCD - Knowledge of AWS components like EKS, EC2, Lambda, S3, and IAM - Proficiency in using SIEM, monitoring, and logging tools like Splunk and ELK Stack - Experience with version control systems like Git, coupled with project management tools like Jira and Confluence

Responsibilities:

- Contribute to the development and deployment of advanced ground operational systems as part of the SDA GMI program - Collaborate within a cross-functional team to ensure project success and innovation - Design, develop, and maintain software solutions in a timely manner - Ensure adherence to best practices in coding and system architecture - Assist in troubleshooting issues and optimizing system performance - Engage in regular communication with team members to coordinate efforts - Document software design and implementation processes thoroughly and share knowledge across the team

We are looking for a Space Force Software Engineer to join our Space, Cyber & Intelligence Engineering Team. This is a contract-to-perm position offering a salary between $68 and $70 per hour, with standard work hours from 9 am to 5 pm.
