This is a contract opportunity. You will be employed by Magnit to work on assignment with GuideWell and subsidiary companies including Florida Blue.
Senior Full-Stack IT Developers are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications across modern technology stacks. Responsible to design develop, implementation of backend microservices, cloud-native solutions, and responsive frontend interfaces while ensuring security, performance, and compliance standards. Senior developers collaborate with team members, establish coding best practices, and serve as technical subject matter experts.
Participate actively in the full software development lifecycle—from requirements analysis through deployment and maintenance—while incorporating IT controls to protect data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Development
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices using Java (Spring Boot) and Python; build responsive frontend applications using React
- Develop and maintain REST/SOAP APIs and event-driven architectures; implement asynchronous messaging patterns using Kafka or MQ
- Architect solutions that balance performance, scalability, and maintainability across on-premises and cloud environments
Database &
- Design and optimize database schemas for relational (DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and non-relational (MongoDB) systems
- Implement efficient data pipelines; manipulate and transform data from multiple sources and formats (JSON, XML, flat files, APIs)
Cloud &
- Develop and deploy applications on AWS and Azure cloud platforms; leverage containerization and orchestration using OpenShift
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git and automated build/deployment tools; ensure rapid iteration in agile environments
- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize resource utilization
AI &
- Integrate AI/ML capabilities into applications; evaluate and implement relevant AI technologies and frameworks
- Stay current with emerging tools and languages (e.g., Hive, Scoop, Kafka) and assess their fit for business needs
Quality &
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing; document test results and defects
- Implement security controls and best practices; ensure HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or other compliance requirements where applicable
- Document detailed system specifications, design decisions, and technical architecture
Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate purchased products and third-party solutions; make build-vs.-buy recommendations
- Apply lessons learned and constructive feedback to improve performance and processes
- Demonstrate initiative in identifying and resolving technical debt and performance bottlenecks
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience in enterprise IT environments
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Languages: Proficiency in Java (Spring Boot), Python, and JavaScript/React; strong object-oriented programming fundamentals
- Backend &
- APIs: Demonstrated experience designing and implementing REST/SOAP web services and microservices
- Databases: Hands-on experience with both SQL (DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
- Version Control: Proficiency with Git and modern branching strategies
- Cloud Platforms: Practical experience developing and deploying applications on AWS or Azure
- Containers &
- Orchestration: Experience with containerization (Docker) and OpenShift or Kubernetes
- CI/CD: Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines and tools
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as a team player; excellent written and verbal communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid development methodologies
- Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and libraries;
experience integrating AI capabilities into applications
- Domain expertise in Healthcare, Financial Services, or other regulated industries
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, MQ)
- Familiarity with advanced debugging tools and performance profiling
- Experience with data transformation tools (Hive, Scoop) and big data concepts
- Proficiency with enterprise tools (MS Office Suite, Visio, flowcharting tools)
- Experience with Node.js and Express frameworks
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend build tools
