Contract-to-hire Responsibilities The role involves developing technology solutions for a cloud-based platform using Microsoft technologies and services from a cloud service provider

Key responsibilities include:

Developing high-quality software using Java technologies and frameworks, including Java 11, Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful services, and Microservices.

Utilizing modern engineering practices and methodologies such as Agile, CI/CD, TDD, and design patterns.

Demonstrating front-end familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern UI principles.

Preparing and deploying applications in production AWS environments.

Troubleshooting and resolving issues in live systems with a focus on stability and reliability.

Managing small to medium-sized projects independently and collaborating on larger, cross-functional initiatives.

Building and maintaining automated tests, unit tests, and integration tests to ensure software quality.

Applying clean code principles, refactoring techniques, and best-in-class architectural patterns.

Collaborating with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver seamless and scalable solutions.

Contributing to a culture aligned with organizational values, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

Qualifications

Performing additional responsibilities as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

7 years of hands-on software engineering experience, primarily with Java and related ecosystems.

Strong experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and Enterprise Integration Patterns.

Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, including schema design and performance tuning.

Solid understanding of Agile Methodologies, including Scrum or XP.

Strong knowledge of design patterns, refactoring techniques, unit testing (JUnit, Mockito), CI/CD, Git.

Experience working with Linux and open-source technologies.

AWS Cloud Experience Highly Preferred.

Financial services background especially in mortgages or mortgage-backed securities is a strong plus.

AI engineering exposure, including use of AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, or similar) and/or building AI-powered features, is preferred.
