1. About the Opportunity:

The Sr. Java Software Developer leads a development team to deliver high-quality software for a Medicare Appeals/Claims platform. This role ensures timely delivery, technical oversight, and alignment between development, QA, and operations teams. The position is pivotal in maintaining system stability, guiding technology decisions, and ensuring compliance within a regulated environment.

1. Responsibilities:

• Prioritize development tasks balancing feature delivery, compliance, and technical debt

• Ensure on-time, high-quality software releases
• Track and report progress using Agile or hybrid methodologies
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, development, and analysts
• Review architecture and design for scalability and maintainability
• Promote coding best practices, peer reviews, and testing discipline
• Guide selection of tools, frameworks, and cloud services
• Oversee system integrations and interoperability
• Manage incident response and root cause analysis for production stability
• Implement and improve Agile and CI/CD processes
• Measure engineering effectiveness with KPIs
• Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives
• Ensure regulatory compliance and documentation traceability
• Collaborate with Product Owner on priorities and feasibility
• Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders
• Translate technical details into business value for non-technical audiences

1. Requirements:

• Bachelor''s degree with 7+ years in application or system development

• 5+ years with advancing responsibilities in software development
• Proven ability to manage end-to-end delivery meeting acceptance criteria without rework
• Experience identifying and communicating technical risks and dependencies
• Proficient in Java, JavaScript frameworks, SQL, REST APIs, and CI/CD technologies
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance

1. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The salary range for this position is $129,813 to $166,750, subject to experience, location, and contractual requirements
