About The Role
HRM INFO LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SR Python Developer to join its dynamic team remotely. This role is pivotal in supporting the firm's music data team by simplifying complex data challenges and developing scalable, efficient data solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing large datasets, data integration, and developing automation processes, with a particular emphasis on music royalties data.
The Senior Python
Developer will collaborate closely with the Royalty Group, IT department, and third-party vendors to design, develop, and implement data pipelines, APIs, and analytical tools that enhance data accessibility, accuracy, and insight. The position offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to innovative projects within the entertainment industry, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in fields such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related disciplines. A minimum of seven years of hands-on experience managing large datasets and programming within a full SDLC environment is required.
Expertise in Python, including Pandas, ORM, SQLAlchemy, Numpy, Matplotlib, and other related packages, is essential. Proven experience with SQL Server, performance-optimized SQL querying, and multi-tier architecture is necessary. Familiarity with data visualization tools like PowerBI and Tableau, alongside advanced Excel skills (Macros, Pivot Tables, Power Query), is highly desirable.
Experience with cloud development, API integration, and data wrangling processes is also critical. The candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Royalty Group in managing, storing, and accessing extensive music data obtained from record companies, music publishers, PROs, and DSPs, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Design, develop, and implement ETL processes to ingest various file formats such as Excel, Text, JSON, and HTML into existing SQL Server databases.
- Integrate and automate data wrangling processes to streamline data ingestion, normalization, and analysis, enhancing operational efficiency.
- Develop cloud-based solutions and integrate third-party APIs, including website functionalities and JSON data formats, to support ongoing business needs.
- Establish logging, audit monitoring, and validation procedures to measure system performance, accuracy, and resource utilization.
- Create automated workflows to improve data processing speed and accuracy, reducing manual intervention.
- Act as a liaison between the Royalty Group and IT department to evaluate software, database, and programming options, assisting in change management, implementation, and staff training.
- Propose, design, and build new data platforms or solutions to meet evolving business requirements.
- Lead algorithm development projects from conception through deployment, including QA, experimentation, and analysis phases.
- Manage data rooms for clients and third-party stakeholders, ensuring secure and organized data sharing.
- Provide expert guidance to the Royalty Group on complex data issues, communicating solutions clearly and effectively both verbally and visually.
- Participate in other projects and perform additional duties as assigned to support the firm’s objectives.
