Sr Python Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Sr Python Developer for a Contract job with a client in Plano TX . Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry .

Location: Plano TX (hybrid & local)

Rate Range: $94/hour to $95/hour on W2 ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java is primarily used for legacy work, bug fixes, and support. Python is strongly preferred for new development.

Work Breakdown

• 50% API Development
• 25% CI/CD
• 25% Frontend & Troubleshooting

The role is heavily backend-focused, but candidates should understand React and be comfortable working across the full application. Must-Haves

Engineers will work across different data sources, databases, and schemas to identify problems, develop solutions, and create streamlined Slack notifications that bring important information together in one place.

What They’ll Do

• Develop and enhance a Slack application.
• Work with multiple data sources, APIs, and database schemas.
• Build solutions that consolidate complex information into a unified format.
• Troubleshoot issues and continuously improve existing solutions.
• Own individual projects while collaborating and supporting teammates.
• Participate in Jira/Kanban, quarterly PIs, demos, and technical presentations.

AI Experience Hands-on AI experience is very important. They are specifically interested in candidates who have used tools such as Claude Code or similar AI development tools.

Candidates should be able to clearly explain what they actually built or accomplished using AI, not just list AI tools on their resume.

Ideal Candidate A strong backend engineer with Python and API development experience who can also understand frontend technologies, work with complex data ecosystems, troubleshoot issues, and clearly communicate technical solutions.
