Digital team associates focus on delivering initiatives that help our pet parents find and discover products, bring enterprise priorities to life digitally, design new user experiences, build new features and capabilities, and manage key omni-channel programs.

About the LocationCollaborative Work Environment:

In a standard work week, associates may work up to one remote “flex day” (with leader approval). About the JobUX Optimization DeveloperWe are seeking a UX Optimization Developer with deep expertise in modern front-end technologies including Next.js, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SASS, and SCSS.This role focuses on building and optimizing digital experiences through A/B testing, reusable UI component development, and scalable front-end architecture. The ideal candidate will partner closely with business stakeholders, IT, and engineering leadership to translate requirements into high-quality technical solutions.This individual is proactive, collaborative, and driven to continuously improve processes, performance, and product quality. They take initiative, embrace stretch opportunities, and work closely with leadership to deliver scalable, optimized user experiences.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with business and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned to requirementsDevelop new user-facing features using React.js and Next.jsDesign and build reusable UI components and contribute to a scalable component libraryLead and support A/B testing initiatives using modern experimentation frameworksTranslate designs and wireframes into high-quality, maintainable codeOptimize components for maximum performance across a wide range of devices and browsersImplement solutions in ambiguous situations and help clarify technical requirementsProactively identify and communicate efficiency and optimization opportunitiesConduct root cause analysis and support bug triaging effortsWork autonomously while maintaining strong collaboration across teamsRecommend scalable technical solutions and gain cross-functional buy-in for implementationRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experienceHands-on experience with experimentation platforms and A/B testingStrong experience with Next.js and TypeScriptAdvanced proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object modelThorough understanding of React.js, its core principles, and workflowsExperience translating designs and wireframes into high-quality codeFamiliarity with modern ECMAScript specificationsExperience working with RESTful APIsFamiliarity with modern front-end build pipelines and toolsExperience with Git or other code versioning toolsWorking knowledge of Agile methodologiesExperience using project management tools such as JIRA and ConfluenceStrong analytical skills, including root cause analysisAbility to optimize applications for performance across web-capable devices and browsersSelf-starter with strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of modern authorization mechanisms (e.g., JSON Web Tokens)Experience with front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, and NPMAbility to translate business requirements into technical solutionsStrong benchmarking and performance optimization skillsExperience with Optimizely, CommerceTools, and AlgoliaFamiliarity with ADA compliance and accessibility best practices
