I have been a Child Protective Services social worker for the past 4 and half years. During my time working child protective services, I have sharpened my assessment and interviewing skills by completing multiple trainings and applying my knowledge within the field. When working with families I use different interview strategies from sampling methods, questions that are open ended, and using the LAP guide to ensure I receive the most accurate information that way I can ensure safety for children.
I ensure that I am transparent with clients, and that I build rapport and trust with families. Some of my skills that I posse are critical thinking, the ability to think out of the box, active listening, I am knowledgeable of the child welfare system and can assess a situation that involves possible safety concerns. Over these past four and half years I have devoted extensive hours in multiple communities to ensure the safety of children and families in those communities.
I am dedicated to being a support to the families I work with, to provide them with local resources, to educate them on domestic violence, substance abuse, discipline, or mental health issues. Making a difference for families has been my personal mission while working with Child Protective Service and I will continue to be the possible support for the community I serve.
