Distributed Network File System

There are several client machines and one server; the server stores the data on its disks, and the clients request data using UDP messages.

• Developed a distributed idempotent file system server using UDP communication that stores and accesses data using a file system image. Support for reading and writing to super block, bitmaps, inode table, and data region. The server maintained in-memory versions of the file system data structures for performance.
• Built a client library to provide an interface for accessing the file server over UDP and implemented functions for file and directory manipulation, including reading, writing, and deleting

Facial Analysis Program

Implement facial recognition algorithm using PCA to improve clarity and accuracy

• Implemented functions in python using PCA to re-center data around origin, calculate covariance matrix, perform eigendecomposition, project images onto subspace, and display images
• Gained proficiency in machine learning techniques and image processing. Developed good understanding of facial recognition algorithms and the use of PCA for feature extraction

Deep learning model for predicting labels of handwritten images

• Successfully built and trained a neural network model for predicting labels of handwritten images with high accuracy on the Fashion-MNIST dataset. Implemented the model using Python and various libraries such as TensorFlow and LeNet, and conducted extensive profiling, testing and evaluation to optimize performance
• Gained experience with building, modeling, and training neural network systems.

Basic Unix Shell

• Developed a basic command line interpreter using C with support for built-in commands, redirection, and if statements
• Gained experience in Linux programming, as well as an understanding of process management and shell functionality

Teeko Game using AI

• Developed an AI game player for the board game Teeko with varying difficulty levels. Implemented a minimax algorithm to optimize decision tree search and applied heuristics to improve decision-making at a higher difficulty level
