I am a detail oriented, computer technology focused individual, who recently changed career directionfrom being a formally trained Architect and 3D Environment Modeler / Game Art professional, to my other passion which is Computer Technology and Technical Operations. I have recently obtained my CompTIA A+ certification and am excited to start my career in IT.
I am currently working in a volunteer position at AchieveKids, a special educationschool in Palo Alto, CA. I am working on various projects in their IT department, focused on desktopand server hardware administration and technicalsupport.
I most recently worked at LinkedIn for the entirety of 2024 where I helped the Workplace team as an X Studio Program Coordinator. While I was there, among other projects, I built a library containing a catalog of Environmental Graphic Design (EGD), art, and signage assets and standards. These are made available to all employees worldwide to foster greater workplace related branding, collaboration and accessibility.
In my first role at a larger company, I gained valuable experiences working in a team in a corporate environment and collaborating with other teams across the company, as well as external partners. I learned how to juggle multiple projects at once, while remaining focused on timely delivery of results in an ever-changing landscape of ideas and projects.
In April of this year, I started volunteering at a non-profit school for children with intellectual disabilities called AchieveKids. I have worked with the head of IT to map out and document all of the ports in each classroom to more easily assess issues in the future. I am helping him by creating diagrams for the firewall, switches, ISP, and other network diagrams for both AchieveKids campuses.
Volunteering here has inspired me to dive further into the IT profession and I recently received my A+ certification.
I would say volunteering at AchieveKids and learning from the head of IT there has been very educational, in addition to the lessons i took to prepare for my certification tests. Along with a lifetime of working with computers has helped me achieve a strong foundation of IT knowledge.
