Hello,
My name is Alexander Drobot, I speak English, Ukrainian, and Russian, and I am currently employed at Fannie Mae as a Senior Associate of Enterprise Risk (Corporate Governance). Before Fannie Mae, I worked in the leasing and financing sectors of real estate.
Currently, as a Senior Associate, I develop and distribute reports to monitor trends and analyze data for risk management. I provide guidance on risk policies and standards and ensure compliance with corporate/government requirements. One of my main tasks is to report on Key Business Decisions made by the enterprise to ensure that any issues are remediated.
Previously, as a Risk Management Associate in IRM at Fannie Mae, I was responsible for assisting the team in identifying and mitigating potential risks to the enterprise. I worked on various projects related to policy and procedure development, compliance testing, process analyses, gap identification, and remediation. In addition, I was involved in the implementation of operational and governance requirements for key control activities to ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, corporate, and business unit policies and procedures.
More specifically, I was the “owner” of the Enterprise Operations Monthly Risk Report and I was the main contributor on my team for all information pertaining to Loss Events, Issues, and KBDs.
Prior to my role at Fannie Mae, I worked as a Transaction Manager at Scope Capital Group, where I was responsible for administering and monitoring a portfolio of loans. I worked closely with loan originators to negotiate the terms of the loan, review and analyze property, financial and market data, and prepare formal loan applications for lenders and internal underwriters. In addition, I designed professional email marketing campaigns, created content, and managed various social channels to increase brand awareness, grow online engagement, and increase lead generation.
At Brixmor Property Group, I gained valuable experience in identifying at-risk tenants and managing the tenant approval process, which required a keen understanding of risk management. At the start of the COVID lockdowns, I was responsible for researching and preparing risk management information to help determine which tenants were at risk of defaulting on their leases. I then categorized those tenants into several categories and presented this information to management, which aided in the effort of retaining our tenants during COVID.
On top of this massive project, I reached out to hundreds of prospective tenants, negotiated leases, and served as the point of contact for dozens of tenants.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss the role and my qualifications further.
Sincerely,
Hello,
I went to American University in Washington, D.C., where I obtained a B.A. in International Studies. My focus was on Ukrainian and Russian politics and I interned in that field during my four years at college, but decided to make a career change after graduation in 2017.
Since working in Risk Management at Fannie Mae, I took dozens of internal risk management courses and stay up-to-date with current policies and trends.
