I am a retired elementary school year with 27 years of experience in grades 4-7. I am currently the Northeast STEM coach for STEMscopes, Accelerate Learning. I lead K-12 Professional development to educators nationwide.
I believe that when students experience a supportive inquiry-based education that promotes mathematical discourse and willingness for productive struggle and perseverance, they develop mathematical habits of mind and a lifelong quest for learning. I am passionate about embedded instructional practices that promote ongoing communication, problem solving, and reasoning skills. I believe that learning should be experiential and connected to real-world contexts.
