After I attained a Bachelors in chemistry with organic chemistry research focused on developing a novel amalgam to repel zebrafish, I focused my attention on entering the field of medicine. I earned a Masters in Biomedical Sciences from the Rutgers University School of Graduate Studies, then subsequently matriculated to Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. At NJMS, I dedicated my time to urban health and community outreach.
After medical school, I did a surgery internship in which I developed my procedural and professional skills. I had the opportunity to work with one of the leading Wound Care and Regenerative Medicine specialists in America at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. My time in the surgical internship helped me solidify the kind of physician I wanted to be, and I started dedicating my time to applying for Family Medicine residency.
