My name is Angel Vargas, and I am currently a second-year student studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of California Berkeley. From the age of 6, extraterrestrial beings have always fascinated me. I pondered about the technology needed to build satellites and rockets in space.
I started looking on youtube for projects to work on and started building mini cars, catapults, and bridges; not knowing it was the beginning of my interest in engineering. This propelled me to take engineering 101 where I began learning the fundamentals of building strong structures using math and physics.
I’ve since transitioned from building catapults to using SolidWorks to design energy-efficient windmills that can withstand various amounts of pressure on their structure. I assembled the windmill using Assembly on SolidWorks and tested the resistance of the windmill using Simulations. I tested out different structures of the windmill until my final design resulted in a triangular windmill.
Ultimately, I wish to become a Mechanical Engineer. I believe that my academic knowledge and past experiences would make me a great addition to your team.
