I am a seasoned researcher and program manager in the field of technology and public policy, with extensive experience in leading and conducting interdisciplinary research on the impact of digital technologies on media, democracy, and human rights globally. I am passionate about advancing the global understanding and dialogue on critical issues of digital, technology, and cyber policy to create a more equitable and just digital future for all.
I am also an experienced project and communications manager, and coordinate various projects and initiatives that aim to foster collaboration and engagement among academics, policymakers, practitioners, and civil society actors in the field of digital media and governance.
My background is in technology policy research. I worked as the research manager (tech policy) at The Hitachi Center, where I worked on projects related to algorithmic governance, election disinformation, and internet freedom. Some of the initial research from our election disinformation project, which I led, was published back in 2022.
I also worked as a Research Analyst & Communications Manager at Digital Planet. I led a research project on sustainable tech and tech practices in the context of innovative businesses and business models, where we analysed how businesses in agriculture, education, and climate sustainability are leveraging digital platforms to advance SDG goals. I can provide links to those projects if you require.
I also worked on research projects that evaluated broadband access in the US and global digital inclusion.
As communications manager, I led internal and external communications efforts to disseminate our research, and also worked with external partners like Dalberg and Devex. In August 2023 (till Dec. 2023), I also filled in a program manager role for another research organisation whose program manager suddenly left. I managed annual programming, events, and communications on issues related to human migration and financial inclusion.
Again, I collaborated with a lot of external organisations in this role to disseminate policy research, like The Cristosal Global School and Decodis, which is funded by the Gates Foundation.
I have a Masters degree in Technology Policy and International Relations from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, the oldest international relations school in the United States. I also have a bachelors degree in Law from one of India's premier National Law Schools.
