Possesses an understanding and ability to clearly explain metallurgical principles critical to metals processing (e.g., recrystallization, strengthening mechanisms, and microstructure- property relationships)

It may involve few days in the office interrogating data, reviewing manufacturing details, or he may be called out to the manufacturing shop floor to provide technical expertise (a Subject Matter Expert) in Materials Science (Metal and non metal casting, metal and plastic Extrusion, superplastic forming, Metal Joining - brazing, molding and Sintering, Welding, Machining, Thermal Plasma Spray coating, Cementation, Heat Treating, and their alloys, Carbon- Graphite fiber composite materials, glass fiber, Ceramic and polymer composites, MIMC, Glass to metal fusion, metallization behavior processed needing control.
