I am a current California State employee who is seeking to move into the IT sector. I am willing to leave state service to get my foot in the door with IT because it is what I am truly passionate about: I am a fast learner, a team player, and I look forward to finding solutions to new challenges day in and day out. Throughout my life, I have consistently demonstrated an aptitude for troubleshooting issues relating to IT, so during the the height of the pandemic, I decided to pursue an academic route to help open up new opportunities.
Although most of my experience in IT is related to my recent education, I have demonstrated an aptitude for this field my whole life. I have extensive experience configuring personal area networks in my home, such as troubleshooting router/modem issues, configuring DHCP and static IP addresses when necessary, etc. In previous jobs, I have performed routine maintenance on workstations, which included properly cleaning equipment and updating device software to ensure optimal performance.
In recent times, I have created my own virtual private server through Linode (Akamai) and have configured a reverse proxy using Cloudflared servers and managing it with Docker.
I recently graduated from American River College with two Associate Degrees in Computer Information Science - Networking (Linux and Windows server admin). During my time at ARC, I managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout and learned valuable skillsets, such as basic scripting with BASH (Linux) and Python; Windows server administration, including Active Directory; configuring Windows firewalls, as well as PfSense and Palo Alto Networks (both GUI and CLI), which includes a fundamental understanding of creating and reading logs and setting up FW rules; and I have done extensive reading into the essential functions of a help desk technician.
