I am a career switcher to mathematics teacher i have worked in the IT field for 20+ years and have also worked in business environments. I am very tech savvy and used to using web tools to help with my instruction. I like to connect math to other topics to show its value, like history, art, music, and business.
The last 7 years i have been working with children with learning disabilities, for the first 5 i was a one on one SPED assistant that tackled some of the toughest assignments in ourt school system. Succeeding in many program firsts. I went on to become a Mathematics teacher at Noel C. Taylor academy for troubled and at risk teens. Where i was the top performing teacher for SOL passes and benchmark scores for 5 consecutive testing windows.
I have been to college numerous times for different subjects my greatest educational strongpoint is the diveresity of my college experiences, I have lived a varied life and have had many experiences giving me a wide array of skills not normally in the teacher toolkit.
