Recently moved back from Shanghai, China where I was a graduate student at Shanghai International Studies University and a professional in the education industry. I am hoping to find a fulfilling job that gives me the opportunity to use my education and experience in a creative way. I am interested in learning skills through new challenges that encourage growth. My extensive experience in learning and development led me to my passion for supporting people in achieving their own success stories.
After my Master's completion, I worked with the Chinese government and private education institutions to develop culturally inclusive materials for students and teachers. Providing training for Chinese educators who were interested in bettering their intercultural awareness and leadership skills for a global market. This experience solidified my passion for working with communities that have the drive to better themselves through learning and development and taught me what students and education staff need to thrive in their academic ecosystems.
The trainings my team and I conducted would not have been able to circulate Shanghai if it weren't for the government grants and private funding my team and I applied for throughout the process. The relationships we built during our initial fundraising cycles are still supporting the company today. I am not only comfortable with the process of seeking out funding and managing a budget.
I excel at maintaining relationships with donors and funding agencies. Many of our funding sources came with the stipulations we work closely with the Chinese government to ensure materials were up-to-date with the latest standards and policies.
I attended University in America, and I earned my Master's degree at a University in China. The cultures were dramatically different in all of these institutions, but what remained consistent was the power of the academic community. The community of fellow students, advisors, professors, and faculty that had a shared interest in supporting one another to succeed is where I found my passion for involvement.
During my academic career, I was working in student leadership, maintaining internships (The World Values Survey), planning campus-wide events, and supporting international conferences (The 11th IAIR Biennial Conference and the 15th CAFIC Annual Conference). These experiences strengthen my passion for and my understanding of the field I was studying.
