Full stack developer for American Express focusing on Rest APIs and Front-end web development
American Express (9/2020 - Present) Desert Ridge, Phoenix AZ
Current role as lead developer for the Connex Platform Engineering team. Responsible for daily coding tasks and cloud engineering technologies and strategies. Including creating backend Rest APIs in C# and Java, creating frontend applications in React. Originally developing all on-prem Hydra cloud projects and services. Due to limiting resources within on-prem Hydra, GPU and Memory constraints, responsibilities have shifted to migrating all projects and services to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Terraforming and provisioning Postgres databases for the public cloud environment.
Integrating with the Global Services Group Technology (GSGT) responsible for creating applications to monitor call recordings and health of all systems associated with the call recording space. Applications supporting problem resolution and identifying root cause issues. Currently working with the WFM Arise team as lead API and UI developer. Developing AI applications utilizing Heuristic and Machine Learning models to better forecast scheduling for customer service representatives.
Taking initiative to migrate monolithic applications written in legacy frameworks and separating code logic into Web API backend and React frontends. Allowing applications to run in Linux Dockized containers and deployed in the Hydra and GCP cloud environments.
Responsible for architecting and developing applications to reduce code duplication and optimizing code for reusability and performance. Developing reusable classes with interfaces injected through constructors for repositories and services to be used with numerous controllers. Therefor reducing code duplication, providing code maintainability through optimized codebases.
Similarly creating common components for the frontend such as reusable charts and graphs configurable through properties allowing for reusability throughout the frontend views.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Economics from Portland State University.
