Daniel John Harris is a Chicago-based, award-winning writer/director and honors graduate from Columbia College Chicago’s Film and Video program. An Army veteran as well as a veteran filmmaker, Daniel has experience at nearly every position on a film crew, and on everything from indie feature films to national TV commercials. Previous directing credits include the critically successful Role Initiative: A D&D Musical (winner of the 72 Hour Windie City Shootout), Hey Blues Eyes (winner of the Artemis Action Film Festival), Wait, I’m A Racist!? (winner of the Shortcut100 Film Festival and winner of Best Director at the Collected Voices Film Festival), Now & Not Yet (winner of the Chicago Feedback Film Festival), and Subsurface (winner of the Canadian Cinematography Award for Best Drama and The Aladerri Film Festival for Best Illinois Short Film), to name a few.
20+ years working in videography making commercials, movies, documentaries, and educational videos, as well as photographing events, the street, and countless portraits.
