Danny Viola

I work as a theatre technician proficient in Lights (Designer & Electrician), Sound (Design & Engineering), Set (Design & Basic Construction), Stage Management, Production Management, and Educational Instruction for aforementioned.

Over the past fifteen years across the NY/NJ/PA area, I have had the unique honor of working with a variety of professionals in different capacities as a Production Manager, Stage Manager, Theatre Educator, Artistic Director, and Technical Director. Whether chauffeuring high profile artists to and from gala performances, mopping and sweeping the stage for trained dancers of all ages, stage managing equity productions that center historically marginalized voices, or creating and maintaining operation or production budgets as a Production Manager, I bring productive energy and a wholesome dedication to institutions of higher learning. My own experiential history gives me invaluable insight on what is truly possible and realistic to create authentic experiences for a diverse theatre community in any capacity.

My personal mission as a theatre manager and educator has been and continues to be to ensure that production practices and systems continue to evolve as a reflection of America’s ever-changing economic structure. I feel confident in my organizational skills as well as my artistic knowledge and experience to rise to the challenge of stewarding and collaborating with a team to create impactful art while meeting expectations dictated by the bottom line. While it is no small task to maintain budgets in tandem with the morale of hardworking artists, artisans, and educators of the theatre industry, I know that I am up for any challenge to presented while creating/supporting unique theatrical experiences.

Outside of my formal education, every job opportunity over the past 15 years has presented its own unique educational experience from learning how to collaborate most effectively, balance/evolve timelines and budgets for production, and so much more.
