Though my career experience is limited to the dog grooming industry, I am seeking new opportunities in community work as I want to dedicate my time to work that benefits my community. I would like the chance to connect with people, help out where I can and hopefully make a difference. I'm eager to learn and a dedicated worker. If given the opportunity, I believe I can prove myself to be a valuable addition to your team.

Volunteer at Project Soup Food Pantry (2022 – 2023)
Volunteered once a week and some weekends. Learned to work with clients. I practiced patience, understanding and respect. I learned how important it is to greet every client with the utmost dignity and empathy.
To listen to each individual and figure out the best way to fulfill their needs. Practiced conflict resolution through patience and kindness. Sometimes people would take too much or become confrontational with other clients or volunteers.
I figured out the best way to de-escalate was to come in with a smile and some levity, let them know we're here to help and maybe give out an extra serving to keep things running smoothly. People from diverse backgrounds would come and sometimes might be going through a really hard time. They probably have reasons to be upset or frustrated.
To let them know you're on their side can make the world of difference.
