Dede Louis is an artist seeking to share their ideas through a combination of new media art and traditional art mediums. They are interested in detail-oriented jobs and being apart of events from the background - from setup to production.
As an Operations intern for Empire Global Ventures for 2 summers and occasionally working during the year, our entire relationship became more than what I ever thought it would be and for which I am grateful for. Originally I mainly assisted our Director of Operations, until I asked for more work to do. That year I started to attend meetings with our CEO and Director of Operations, redesigned their website layout, and also went on coffee runs.
The next and last summer working at EGV, I organized our CEO's C-level contacts into an online client database, cold-called potential clients, and attended an overnight event to assist our CEO in her preparations for a speaking engagement. In between these two summers, I helped set up and sell products at a booth in the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market for one of EGV's recent clients. In the end I felt as though I completed a true course in assistant work, and I found that I could find joy in being trusted to maintain my part of the assembly line.
