Growing up I always would wonder what I would do in life and enjoy it. For some years it took me some time but I always had the mindset to want fix and build things. Really, I never gave much thought to this fixation I had until high school when I finally realized I could do something in life dealing with this. I started looking into engineering more and more learning the knowledge I needed to make my mind up. This career fascinates me and I could do it for most of my life.
Duties – Adjusting wooden poles, lifting heavy pieces of wood, dug and filled holes, pulled electrical wires off spools for 20 yards or more, used electrical equipment to mount objects on wooden poles, observed lineman while they worked in the bucket to help prevent hazards.
Electrical Lineman certification from South Georgia Technical college
Duties – Operating boom bucket truck, covering up phases, tearing down transformers, performing drop services, splicing wires, plumbing and aligning poles, digging holes with the digger derrick truck.
Duties – Pre-trip inspection of the whole truck, Driving on city roads and highways, performing Maneuvers with 53 foot trailer such as offset backing, straight line backing, alley dock, and parallel parking, and gaining on the road knowledge of does and don'ts
