I am an architect and general contractor who has spent over three decades designing and building custom homes, estates, and creative environments across California and beyond. I operate at the intersection of concept and construction — where vision becomes structure, and every decision is rooted in both design integrity and real-world execution.
My passion lies in translating architectural ideas into lived experiences. Whether sketching a concept by hand, modeling a site in 3D, or walking a jobsite, I view every step as a conversation — between client and architect, idea and material, design and place. I believe that architecture is a form of storytelling, and successful projects emerge when that story is clearly communicated, deeply understood, and beautifully resolved.
At the heart of my practice is education. Every design meeting, every construction detail, and every challenge solved is part of a continuous teaching and learning process — for the team, the client, and myself. After years of mentoring younger architects and leading collaborative studios, I’m now seeking to formalize that role in architectural education.
I’m eager to pass on the lessons of experience, inspire future designers, and support students as they develop the skills to bring their own ideas to life.
Licensed architect and general contractor with over 30 years of experience leading custom residential, commercial, and design-build projects throughout California and the Western U.S. As founder of Spire Architecture Inc., I have completed more than 300 architectural projects—ranging from remote mountain retreats to high-performance estates—combining conceptual clarity with technical execution. My work is rooted in a belief that architecture is a collaborative, iterative process that requires clear communication, precise documentation, and respect for both craft and context.
I lead teams through all project phases, from programming to occupancy, and bring a strong emphasis on education, mentorship, and hands-on problem-solving to every engagement.
Bachelor of Architecture, Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), 1994 — a program known for its emphasis on conceptual rigor and innovation.
Since then, my most profound education has come from over 30 years of leading my own design-build practice. Running a business that integrates architecture, construction, and client relationships has taught me the full spectrum of what it takes to design, deliver, and manage complex projects. From navigating building codes and contract law to leading teams and mentoring emerging designers, my professional journey has been a continuous and holistic education in both the art and business of architecture.
