I have been a Theatre Educator, working as a Technical Director, Designer, carpenter, Director and teacher for 27 years. Recently relocated to El Paso, TX, so looking for a new path with a company that can utilize someone with my skillset for leadership, creativity, hard work and dedication.
As a set designer and lighting designer, I have been successful in creating complete environments for physical storytelling. As a technical director, I have to be able to complete the director's vision while dealing with the constraints of time, space and budget. As a director, I have to be able to being a story to life and collaborate with all creative and technical departments in order to bring the vision to the stage. As a teacher, I have to be a supportive leader to get the best out of my inexperienced cast members. All of these roles require attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. I also have to work under extreme stress, especially when dealing with problems during a live performance where time is of the essence and the audience should never know that there was a problem. More often than not, as a theatre educator, I wear multiple hats and have to be able to balance the workload usually assigned to multiple production staff.
