My name is Elisabeth Leighton, I am 19 years old, and I just completed my freshman year of college. I attended Blinn College in my freshman year, but will go on to attend Texas A&M University in the fall semester. I find fulfillment in lifting weights and playing sports in my free time.
My experience within the work field is limited, but mostly includes babysitting and dog-sitting. When I put my mind to something I work until that task is efficiently completed. I enjoy working with people as you can have a companion while you complete your job.
I am the youngest of five kids so I am used to having to work and get along with others in a close proximity. Coffee and Dr. Pepper are two of my favorite beverages, and I try to eat healthy food choices as much as my schedule allows.
The main experience I have with working is dog-sitting and babysitting. While dog-sitting I would usually house sit as well while the owners went out of town. This demands responsibility as the dog must have scheduled times to eat and go outside to the bathroom.
It takes accountability to maintain the house, and keep it in a good condition when the owners return. While I was at school I lived with my brother and his wife who have a one year old son. I would often take care of him and watch him while they had a date night or other responsibilities that needed attention.
In addition I babysat other babies while in college as well as high school. During high school I had over 300 hours of volunteering which gave me exposure to the professional world.
I entered my freshman year of college with 13 credit hours from dual credit and summer courses. For these 13 hours I attended San Jacinto College and maintained a 4.0 GPA. In my freshman year I attended Blinn College in Bryan where I completed a total of 30 hours with a 3.88 GPA.
Upon recent notice I will be attending Texas A&M University this fall where I will pursue a degree in Communications. I will enter into the second semester of my sophomore year as I will have 43 hours completed. I am excited to be a student at Texas A&M as this has been a goal of mine since I was a kid.
As I face higher education I know I will be faced with challenges, but I look forward to overcoming them while achieving my goals.
