Emily Petachi

Hello! I'm Emily Petachi. I am looking for a summer job close to home to earn some money before college starts back up for the fall semester.

I have worked in the past 3 years as both a swim lesson instructor and a lifeguard. I worked at Forest Ridge Association Pool for 2 years (Summers of 2018 and 2019). I also worked at the Huber Heights YMCA / Kroger Aquatic Center for 1 year (Summer of 2021).

In my previous job experience I've worked with multiple co-workers and patrons. Specifically, within my lifeguard position at Forest Ridge, I have worked the front desk and concession stand as well as my typical duties of being a lifeguard and promoting safety. I have also taught swim lessons one on one with kids ranging from ages 2-12 in different levels of swimming.

I have had to work not only alongside the children that I've taught, but also with the parents and helping them figure out the best level of swim lessons for them to enroll their children in and what their kids need to focus on to do better and pass their swim tests. Through these experiences within aquatics, I have gained a lot of customer service, safety and responsibility training/experience, and leadership positions as well which have prepared me for numerous jobs both in and outside of aquatics.

I graduated from Wayne High School in 2021. I was very active in my school and earned a GPA of 4.7 being ranked 6th in my class of 460 students.

Currently, I am a sophomore at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green Ohio. I am a pre-nursing major on the track to hopefully be inducted into the nursing program at the end of next school year where I will officially become a nursing major. I will be graduating with my BSN-RN in 2025. I am a Thompson Working Family Scholar and a Marjorie E. Conrad M.D. Scholar with a current GPA of 3.8.
