As a Technical Specialist and Senior Lead Auditor, Sustainable Seafood Chain of Custody at SCS Global Services, I conduct audits in accordance with the MSC, ASC, and RFM standards and quality management systems. I also support quality control activities, such as technical report reviews, program document control, and internal and external accreditation audits. Additionally, I am responsible for staff and contract auditor training materials and records to ensure competency and compliance in the sustainability standards.
I have a B.S. in Fisheries Biology and an M.P.S. in Marine Ecosystems and Society from University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, where I wrote two research papers on the effects of temperature cycling and stocking density on the growth and survival of almaco jack and Japanese flounder. I have professional experience in fisheries research, management, and husbandry, working as a laboratory assistant, hatchery technician, and aquaculture research assistant in various settings. I am passionate about promoting marine conservation and responsible seafood practices, and I am looking forward to applying my complementary academic and professional experience in current endeavors and future opportunities.
