I have spent the last 10 years working tirelessly to seek personal and professional growth through the lens of leadership. Much of this has been done from a managerial perspective. However, learning how to understand leadership from a subordinate’s point of view has required a great deal of effort and sacrifice. Most gain this understanding by learning how to manage, then by growing through trial and error focusing on managerial growth. I have learned this dynamic by living each one of these stages over the last 10 years. During the last 3 years, I have experienced what it means to painstakingly start a business that financially rests completely on the shoulders of the owner, and have learned what it means to live a life over the road away from family and friends.
