I am well-versed in python and bash programming and have produced a plethora of deliverables for numerous academic journals. Additionally, I have extensive knowledge of hpc systems and cloud computing. I currently have one first-authored publication with various co-authorships, both published and in pre-print. Although I have worked in both medical and marine microbiology fields my primary research focus has been Bioinformatics throughout my professional career.
To date I have authored two programs that are currently in active use by various teams. During my time with CDC I developed an application (endopep_peaks) to streamline the data analysis component for suspected cases of botulism. Since its’ roll out it has been certified via Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). My second program (rpkm_heater) calculates and visualizes Reads Per Kilobase Per Million Reads (RPKM) from raw recruitment data. Rpkm_heater now serves as a subscript in a larger pipeline that has been downloaded 418 times to date. Aside from the above mentioned programs I have an abundance of other pipelines designed to streamline the -omics processes related to my current field.
