Blending a robust liberal arts education with an unwavering commitment to supporting individuals in crisis, I bring a wealth of experience to my role as a 988 Suicide Prevention Counselor at Goodwill of the Finger Lakes. Here, I provide compassionate listening, vital mental health information, and critical crisis intervention, always prioritizing consent and meticulous safety planning.
My journey includes serving as a Case Manager at the Willow Domestic Violence Center, where I offered essential support and advocacy for survivors, helping them navigate their paths to safety and recovery. My commitment to education and justice is further reflected in my roles as an Adjunct Instructor at SUNY Finger Lakes Community College and former Peace and Justice Educator at the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I am also a published poet and opinion writer, with columns featured in notable publications. My voice aims to inspire and provoke thought on social justice and community well-being. I am a regular contributor to The Minority Reporter, CityWatch LA, FingerLakes1.com, Life in the Finger Lakes Magazine, CITY Magazine, Buffalo Rising, Common Dreams, The Mindful Word, and more.
I am a proud father to two wonderful children, Mendon and Ellison. They inspire me daily to strive for a better, more inclusive world.
