My training and career have prepared me to function effectively in high-acuity, resource-conscious inpatient settings typical of community hospitals. I currently manage a high-volume adult inpatient census with an emphasis on efficient, safe patient throughput while maintaining high-quality, patient-centered care. My clinical experience includes admission and daily management of complex medical conditions such as sepsis, acute respiratory failure, CHF and COPD exacerbations, AKI, DKA/HHS, gastrointestinal bleeding, cirrhosis-related complications, and multisystem disease.
In addition to my inpatient work, I bring significant leadership and systems-based experience.
Director and Clinical Services Manager at multiple ICE detention facilities in Texas, I oversaw multidisciplinary clinical teams, chaired quality committees, supported provider education, and ensured delivery of care aligned with national performance standards. This role strengthened my ability to collaborate across disciplines, support nursing and APP colleagues, and maintain operational efficiency in challenging environments.
Earlier in my career, I practiced full-spectrum primary care in FQHC settings, served as Medical Director for opioid treatment and residential programs, and led quality improvement initiatives. This background allows me to approach inpatient care with a strong foundation in care coordination, transitions of care, and continuity—skills that are particularly valuable in community hospital settings.
I am known by colleagues for being dependable, collegial, and calm in high-pressure situations. I value teamwork, clear communication, and pragmatic decision-making, and I enjoy working in environments where hospitalists play a central role in patient care and hospital operations.
