Graduating college student with and Exercise Science and Fitness Management degree looking for a job to develop his business skills in the sports world. I am passionate about sports and the behind the scenes of teams. I love how teams operate, the marketing, finance and accounting of teams has fascinated me for a while as well as trades.
I am looking to continue my education and get a sports management masters in a few years. I would love to pursue a career in sports and climb my way to the management team of a team in the NBA or NFL. Outside of school and work I love sports and being outdoors.
With the little free time I have I try to make sure I spend it with friends and family. I hope to work hard and learn a lot about teams in the next few years.
My work experiences happen to be in retail a lot. I would say I am a very social person and love interacting with customers as well as coworkers. In my retail experience I have learned a lot about good and bad work environments, how to sell, learning to adapt to customer requests.
In my time at Wegmans, I also learned the importance of clear communication between levels of a company, how to ensure customer satisfaction and how to go above and beyond even on the rough days. I also learned how to work in sometimes chaotic very busy environments and learned to stay clam and collected in those moments. In my time at other jobs like Abercrombie and the YMCA I truly enjoyed working with people and teaching as well as learning.
These experiences taught me to learn more about my customers before assuming and make better more informed recommendations.
My education has taught me a lot about adversity and finding myself. At the beginning of college I followed the path other people thought would be good for me. I quickly found out that this was not the path for my and I wanted to study topics that I enjoyed and was passionate about.
When i saw the Exercise Science and Fitness Management major at UMASS Lowell I thought it could be the perfect major and life path for me. I am very passionate about education and love to learn and challenge myself which happened a lot in college. My STEM based course like anatomy and physiology or nutrition taught me the importance of hard work and dedication while my business classes showed me my passion for numbers and the want to work in sports while also working within a business context.
My college experience proved to me that I can fight for and get jobs within the business world.
