Software Developer, Emerging Professional

Since I have been in high school I have been enamored with the inner workings of personal computers, popular emerging software, and the logic that has brought such innovation to humanity. In high school I taught myself how to build computers from old E-Waste Bins. I would do this to play around and experiment with setting up my own custom Linux Distro. Ultimately this sent me down the path of intrigue into all things computer science.
After high school I have had different employment opportunities such as a sales floor associate for a consignment retailer, sous chef, waiter, bartenders, and most professionally as a Interprofessional Clinic IT Intern. I have maintained this dance between working to pay my own way through college.
I started my journey as an aspiring programmer in January of 2023 at Appalachian State University. Since then I have expanded my knowledge of computers to incorporate technologies and programming languages such as; Google App Engine, RESTful API Development, Database Development, React, SQL, Python, R, Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C++, Haskell, and Common Lisp. Where I have been able to used and implemented them into various projects I have worked on since studying at Appalachian State University.
The projects that I have finished and or are still working on in my free time are listed on my GitHub page for anyone to play around with. However the project I am most proud of was created over a semester long period and is a Web Application built mainly on React, Common Lisp as a Domain Specific Language, and JavaScript libraries to animate the model. Where by using a Domain Specific Language Inside of a Common Lisp REPL you could track a “ social network membership model.”
I look forward to documenting my journey of developing software, growing my knowledge of programming languages, and my future career as I dive headfirst into this sector!
