Currently a second year plumbing apprentice, however I am seeking a career in IT, as it's something I am passionate about.
I have built several PC home desktops for friends, family, and my self. Ive also self taught myself the Linux CLI and the workings of full stack web development. I've found myself enjoying the troubleshooting and network process in particular, and I aim to enter a networking or cyber security role within the next 5 years. I've tinkered and played with all kinds of IT related fields as a hobby for as long as I can remember and I wish to take it all more seriously as a future career.
I am currently a second year apprentice.
I have experience 3+ years of experience troubleshooting IT related hardware/software (particularly windows 7/10 home PCs and laptops, routers, etc.) as the unofficial IT tech support for friends and family. Plus the 1 year of experience of personal development in the Linux command line/ windows PowerShell.
In terms of “formal” education I took 1 year of java/computer science in highschool, however due to financial constraints that's all the formal education.
All further education has come from hands on experience as the “go-to tech guy” for friends and family, as well as the time I spend on the side working with IT as a hobby.
