Isley Smith

I'm a 26 year old auditor looking to move closer to family in Pittsburgh, PA. Currently, I am studying to take the Certified Fraud Examiner Exam in April. My goal is to work in state or federal government for the rest of my career and eventually get a job as a forensic accountant for the FBI. I like to play soccer, collect sweatshirts, and hang out with my friends to watch horror movies.

Currently, I work as a Sales Tax Auditor for the Kansas Department of Revenue. In my current position, I do sales check of completeness/income reconciliations to identify the veracity of sales reports given to me by taxpayers. Additionally, I use block samples to project error rates onto different audit periods- mainly for sales and purchases. My daily logs and reports are used by auditors and legal staff working in the appeals department after cases are submitted. I have professional experience working as an audit specialist for the payment processing department at the University of Pittsburgh. There, I did monthly audit reports on travel purchases for university professors and helped the department staff close the year-end financial statements.

I graduated with a BSBA in Economics and Accounting from PennWest California December of 2019. Then I got my M.S. in Forensic Accounting from the State University of New York University at Albany. I graduated from UAlbany in May of 2021.
