Jack Gatta

As a current graduate student at Quinnipiac University, my passion lies in the art of storytelling. Through experiences such as a Sports Intern at News 8 and Sound Designer on the short film “Out of Focus”, I have curated a passion for seamless video editing and graphic design principles to communicate core messaging with audiences. On top of that, I've assisted on shoots during my 4 years at college, including my own social media work and mini documentary project.

WTNH Internship, New Haven, CT

Sports Intern February 2025 – May 2025

• Filmed/clipped sports highlights, made packages, wrote scripts, edited graphics, interviewed players/coaches
• Operated camera/audio equipment, used Adobe Premiere for editing, worked in AP ENPS rundown systems
• Provided comprehensive and engaging coverage of local sports events, focused on storytelling and individuals

Server/Audio Operator May 2023, May 2024

• Managed server recording and audio systems within control room during Quinnipiac University commencement ceremonies
• Ensured uninterrupted capture of multiple video feeds and clear sound output from microphones and playback
• Guaranteed reliable quality recording of important University events for archival purposes and streaming to remote audiences

Equipment Operator September 2023 – December 2023

• Took on different roles in the Ed McMahon Center control room, directly supporting student journalism productions
• Directed recording server functions, coordinated on-set as floor director, and aided other roles in the control room

ESPN+ Camera Operator November 2022 – Present

• Operate Hitachi production cameras during basketball/ice hockey games for ESPN+ live-streaming purposes
• Capture dynamic visual coverage for live broadcasts and in-stadium video boards to enhance in-person/at home viewing

Sound Designer & Sound Editor September 2024 – Present

• Served as the sound designer for the short film Out of Focus, capturing audio on set and editing it in post-production
• Conceptualized, created, and integrated all audio elements including sound effects (SFX), dialogue editing, and foley
• Enhanced storytelling, created atmosphere, and engaged the audience through an immersive auditory experience 

Co-Supervisor/Social Media Manager May 2025 – Present

• In charge of daily operations and maintenance, fostering a positive and accountable work environment
• Developed and managed the business's social media presence (Instagram and Facebook), increasing audience engagement through strategic content planning.
