Jacob Billups

I am a full-time student at SUNY Purchase, completing a Playwriting and Screenwriting degree with a minor in film. Additionally, I work as a Student Assistant State Employee part-time. I am currently holding a 3.97 GPA and am on the Deans list. I am a talented writer, independent, and extremely hard worker, as seen by my current grades. I am passionate about film and writing and would love to break into the industry and make important connections.

I have worked in multiple rather short-term jobs due to the fact that I am a freshman in college. I have worked at Metropolitan City Market as a grocery store cashier, where I learned how to use a POS system for customer checkout, memorized many codes for fruits and vegetables, and provided customers with excellent and pleasant customer service. I have also worked with Councilmen Chi Osse as a canvasser.

Here I connected to people in my neighborhood and handed out convincing pamphlets to members of the community. Lastly, currently, I work as a Student Assistant State Employee at SUNY Purchase where I assist students and parents with any questions regarding the fitness center as well as the other facilities in the gym building and check students into the fitness center to ensure safety.

I am currently attending SUNY Purchase for a Playwriting and Screenwriting major with a film minor and am in the second semester of my freshman year. I have a 3.97 GPA and am currently 57% done with my degree. Additionally, I am on the SUNY Purchase Deans list and have received congratulations from Assemblymen Brian Cunningham of NY Assembly District 43.
