I work to identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities within systems and networks through risk assessments and then develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
I have worked with IA Security Engineers to design and implement security architectures for systems and networks. This involves selecting and deploying appropriate security controls and technologies to protect against threats.
I develop and implement incident response plans with security teams to quickly address and mitigate security incidents or breaches. This includes coordinating with other stakeholders to contain the incident and minimize damage.
Part of my responsibilities includes conducting regular security testing, such as vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, to proactively identify and address security weaknesses. I also analyze security incidents and conduct post-incident reviews to understand the root causes and prevent future occurrences.
I also help develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards across the organization. This ensures consistency and adherence to best practices in information security and embark on continuous training of employees on security best practices, policies, and procedures to enhance the organization's overall security posture.
I am a highly motivated and dedicated IT professional with over 14 years of Cyber Security experience including 8 years in Information Systems Security and operational policy and procedures with focus in NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, HIPAA, OMB guidelines, and other Federal regulations and guidance. James successfully works with cross-functional teams including IT Security teams, legal and Compliance departments to deliver expected outcomes and is always eager to take on new challenges and learn about new solutions to tackle the complex issues and threats facing the IT industry today.
