GRAPHIC DESIGNER @RISD

Hello, my name is Jay. I am a junior BFA candidate in Graphic Design at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). I see graphic design not just as a form of art, but as a systematic and scalable artistic practice. While I actively embrace modern technology, I am also deeply interested in exploring old libraries, digital archives, and historical materials to rediscover forgotten visual languages. I hope to challenge conventional design methods and translate visual materials from the past into contemporary narratives across both digital and print platforms.
I have experience in brand, marketing, and editorial design across professional, academic, and collaborative contexts. At an interior design studio, I created client presentation templates, maintained brand consistency, and optimized SEO and social media content to boost engagement. At Cranston Print Works, I designed trade show materials, product graphics, and merchandise displays, supporting marketing strategies.
At RISD, I led the design of a full merchandise collection for the RISD Store, producing print and digital marketing materials aligned with a new brand identity. I also contributed illustration and design work for Brown University, earning a design fellowship for my contributions. As an editorial designer for Brown Film Magazine and Brown Political Review, I developed consistent design systems, improved readability, and supported growth in audience and subscribers.
I am currently majoring in Graphic Design at Rhode Island School of Design, pursuing a BFA with a concentration in Computation.
